The British Museums is very deaf friendly and has recently made a Multimedia guide which is available at the front desk of the museum. The guide is a mini video player which has BSL Translation, it is very easy to use and includes translations of the following.

Book online or pick up from the Multimedia Guide desk in the Great Court. Available for free.

There are also monthly talks at the Museums which are translated into BSL please join the mailing list and you will receive emails letting you know when the next BSL talk is.

BSL: Samurai

Discover the reality behind a millennium of myth at this sweeping exhibition on the legendary Japanese warriors. The samurai is an iconic figure, evoking images of formidable fighters possessing ideals of courage, honour and self-sacrifice. Yet much of what we think we know about samurai is invented tradition.

BSL: Hawaiʻi
Monday 11th May 2026

The exhibition is a dazzling celebration of the artistry and history of Hawaiʻi. It brings together remarkable objects – from feathered cloaks worn by chiefs and finely carved deities, to powerful shark-toothed weapons and bold contemporary works by Kānaka ʻŌiwi (Native Hawaiian) artists.
